Origins in Divinity: Original Sin 2 give the player unique Tags, appearance and in one case a Talent. They are essentially the equivalent of premade characters. Players can also choose Custom if they wish to have more flexibility in their Character Creation, but there are unique opportunities only available to the premade Origins.
Also, In Divinity: Original Sin 2, you can romance any companion of yours, no matter your origin, gender or race.
Here are my Top 10 Starting Builds from Alpha in Divinity Original Sin 2. If you enjoy this video, you can check out my other Divinity Original Sin 2 videos. I made a custom character (the Divinity version of my avatar/OC). You can experience all the origin stories by recruiting them as party members anyway, which seems like a better way to do it, though I appreciate the option. You do get a sense of their story as companions, but the quests are more in depth when you play as them. Slave no more, you still bear scars your master gave you, and wield the skills he taught you. Custom character - more personal immersion, and you’ll be able to see the origin characters personalities a little more, from a third person point of view. Origin - you get a little more story on the specific character you pick (but you can get that same story by doing the origin characters personal quest). Divinity: Original Sin 2. If you're worried about customization, you can customize just as much on an origin character as you can on a custom EXCEPT for: their name, their voice acting, and their tags (noble, jester, mystic, etc).
